New Phone: ITG xpPhone (If it can be called a phone that is…)
September 21, 2009 in Featured, Wireless News
As the title suggests, I’m not even sure if you can call it a phone really. But the company that manufacturers it are calling it that by the name it was given, not in anyway copied from the iPhone of course, the xpPhone.
Here are the top model’s specs (there are versions below this, but why would you get them
):
- Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth
- AMD Super Mobile Processor (not sure of Ghz but 1.6 is my guess, if anyone knows please comment)
- 1GB of RAM
- 4.8″ resistive touchscreen
- Up to a 64GB SSD AND a 120GB HDD
- 1.3MP camera
- Slide out QWERTY keyboard
- On screen mouse
- Comes in GSM or CDMA with 3G support (we’ll see about the 3G support though for what companies)
- Optional WiMax
- Windows XP (not Mobile, real XP)
So with the “phone” running Windows Xp (not Windows Mobile) it’s hard to call it a phone, but let’snot get into semantics. I personally like the idea of having a full blown OS on a phone and frankly think XP would be better than Windows Mobile. Now what would be better than XP, well Windows 7 of course and judging by the specs I wouldn’t see that being too hard to do (yes, as soon as this phone comes out we’ll be doing a How To Upgrade to Windows 7 on it, don’t worry).
What do you guys think about this netbook, err I mean phone?

I mean it´s to much for a phone but time stands not still but it looks nice. In future, i think we can make all thinks with one device.

This is a dream come true for me. I’m so exited it hurts. I’ll be waiting for the upgrade to win. 7. No doubt I am getting this baby.

I think the 1.3 megapixel camera stands for as a web cam, and if so, thats a pretty high res.
