HTC has just released a firmware patch, 2.10.405.2, for HTC Desires in Europe. The update should come to your phone by OTA, (over the air), but you can manually get the update. To manually get the update all you have to do is, from your home screen press menu>settings>about phone>systeme software updates>check now. If your phone doesn’t get the update then wait a day or 2 if your in Europe.

The firmware upgrade is 25 MB and includes:
Android OS update patch
Enhanced multi inbox Gmail support
Improved RUS keyboard layout
If you do get the update please tell us if you noticed any specific changes and what country your in.

  1. I’m in Australia using a Desire running the EU Rom, I got this OTA update and it disabled my wifi showing only an error message when i try to turn it on now :(

  2. I’m in the US, and I got the update. Everything still works fine.

  3. Just installed the update everything works fine, only change I’ve seen so far is you can now talk to type while texting by holding the language selector button

  4. My HTC Desire is have some issues with the BLANK SCREEN. It does not wake up from the sleeping mode while pressing the power button (only hard buttons below flash). After the firmware update I am not able to bring the home screen at all. Have to press power and home/menu buttons at the same time, and they seem not work as well (in most cases). Hence, I was wondering if I do the rooting of my device, which is unlocked, will I solve my issue?

  5. My main issue with the phone after the update is that the phone reports low internal storage all the time. I have already uninstalled 5 apps since the update, but it doesnt stop. Seems the Contacts Storage keeps getting bigger and bigger…
