Android 3.0 to bring Google TV and video chat features

While Froyo is still on its way to many users around the world, we now have news on the next iteration of Google’s OS, Android 3.0 aka the Gingerbread.  As with their names, the features also seem to get sweeter, with the 3.0 version rumored to add more functionality to the already popular mobile operating system at the moment.  The most prominent of these upcoming features will include Google Talk video chat, using the same Talk protocol as the desktop version of the application and the ability to use an Android 3.0-based phone as a remote control for a Google TV; for instance, users can control a YouTube video using Google TV’s  Leanback feature.  There will also be tighter integration of Google’s own applications into the build, instead of just appearing as add-on apps like they do now.   The Gingerbread will also be better optimized for tablets with a revamped UI and better-looking icons not to mention better Google Voice support.

All in all, great news for an Android user, but do keep in mind that these are just rumors, but rumors from a very trusted source on everything Android 3.0.
