Verizon LG Revolution 4G LTE phone heads to the FCC
Popping up at the CES in January, the LG Revolution (model number VS910) will be the third LTE handset that is set to release on Verizon. And now that it’s got the FCC treatment, this has sure turned into a race of which gets out first, with the other two LTE phones, the HTC Thunderbolt and the Samsung “Stealth” SCH-i510, also ready for a release.
Coming to its features, the Revolution is far behind the Thunderbolt but hey, it’s all about choices right? The phone obviously supports Verizon’s 4G 700MHz LTE network along with its CDMA/EVDO 850/1900MHz frequencies and hides a 1GHz single-core Snapdragon processor, 16GB of internal memory, 5MP lens with a front-facing 1.3-megapixel shooter for video chat, and the usual array of connectivity options. Also present is 720p HDMI output and Android 2.2 Froyo, which is upgradeable to Gingerbread after release.
As with the other two smartphones, the release date on the LG Revolution is still a mystery but now that the FCC is in its favor, it shouldn’t be long before we see this hit the streets. Meanwhile, take a peek at the video above to see it in action.
Too much advertising on the rear panel, almost like they’re trying too hard. Keep it simple.
And does Verizon (and LG) have to put their ugly logos on both front and rear?
There’s no LG logo on the front. All manufacturers put a logo on the back. All carriers put a logo on the front.
Curious why you would say the LG is ‘far behind the Thunderbolt’ in features. The LG will have hdmi out whereas the Thunderbolt will not (both will have DLNA). The LG is supposedly going to sport Bluetooth 3.0 as well with the Thunderbolt having Bluetooth 2.1. The LG will also be the first Verizon phone with wireless charging as seen at the MWC. The only significant advantage on paper the T-bolt has on the LG is a better camera, dual-LED flash, 8MP. Some sites are reporting the LG Revolutin to come with 1080P video recording like the Optimus 2X. If so that would be dreamy, but it seems like it’ll just come with 720P. Even still, I don’t see the Thuderbolt’s advantages unless I’m missing something.
I agree LGLover. I can’t understand how the revolution is FAR behind. Last time i checked the specs they were pretty close. I wish Dax would explain a little more.
