How To Get the Xperia Arc Launcher on Your Android Device

I. Before You Begin

1. This only works on Android devices running Android 2.1 or higher.

2. This is an app so it can be uninstalled very easily.

CREDIT GOES TO PHOEZIES OVER AT XDA FOR EXTRACTING AND RELEASING THE APP! IF YOU APPRECIATE HIS WORK, PLEASE HEAD OVER TO HIS ORIGINAL THREAD AND THANK HIM/DONATE TO HIM!

II. Install the Launcher

1. Head to the developer’s thread and download the .apk file in the first post and save it to your computer.

2. Plug your phone in via USB cable and mount the storage so you can transfer files to it.

3. Copy the .apk file over to the root of your sd card/storage (NOT in any folders, just on the sd card/storage itself).

4. Unplug the phone.

5. On the phone, use a file explorer (if you don’t have one you can go to the Android Market and download Astro or Linda file manager for free and use that) to find where you saved the apk file and click on it (if it pops up saying settings need to be changed follow the button in the pop up and check Unknown Sources ON then hit back and click on the apk again).

6. Click install and wait for it to install.

7. Once it is done, click the Home button and a popup should appear asking what to set as default, select the Arc launcher and you’ll be all set.

III. (Optional) Remove the Launcher

1. To remove the launcher, simply head to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and fine the launcher, click on it, then click uninstall.

2. Hit home and you should be brought back to your normal home screen.
