Kyocera Echo up for preorder on RadioShack

If you have kept up with our CTIA coverage, you will have glimpsed an innovative idea called the Echo in one of our videos.  Assuming you were impressed enough by its unique display like us and want it, you’ll only have to wait till April 17th, but here’s a chance to make sure that you get one on its release date.  The dual-screened Kyocera Echo is now on preorder from RadioShack, going right now for a cheap $199 but attached to a new two-year contract with Sprint of course.

Other than the standard features that Android brings and the accompanying connectivity options, the Echo offers two independent displays which can be used together to form a huge 4.7-inch touchscreen display, as a full QWERTY keypad for more comfortable thumb typing, or as an enhanced game controller while not displaying additional useful information depending on the app in use.  The phone runs on Android 2.2 and if 2.3 Gingerbread update is around the corner, there is nothing to indicate as such.

Head over to RadioShack and place your preorder and if you still haven’t made your mind up, hit up our hands-on video and see if that’ll help you decide.
