Sony Ericsson Xperia Play now rooted

Got the hot new SE Xperia Play?  Waiting to get that li’l something more from it? Root is the way to go and thanks to the devs, the Xperia Play is now rooted.  According to Bin4ry at XDA, all you have to do is:

1. Unlock Bootloader
Stick to lollylost100′s Tutorial

2. Download my package:
R800i WORLD .184

Open a Terminal (on windows Start->Run->cmd)

Now copy the downloaded package to the location of fastboot you used for unlocking.
Enter this command:

fastboot flash system YOURDOWNLOADEDFILE.img

fastboot -i 0x0fce flash system YOURDOWNLOADEDFILE.img

fastboot-mac -i 0x0fce flash system YOURDOWNLOADEDFILE.img

Now wait until its done.

Of course, you’ll still need to unlock your bootloader before the entire process. Look for a proper tutorial in our How-To Section on unlocking the bootloader as well as a simplified rooting process very soon.
