Samsung announces the Galaxy S II for early May, has high hopes on sales

The strategy with the Galaxy S worked out great for Samsung and it is looking to employ the same with the upcoming successor to the runaway hit – the Galaxy S II. As with its predecessor, Samsung is looking to flood the markets all over with the dual-core smartphone with 120 countries on the roster and a total of 140 carriers consigned to offer the device when it is released in early May.

Sammy plans to sell close to 10 million units of the Galaxy S II and if it follows the same path as the first Galaxy S (which sold more than 10 million pieces), we wouldn’t be surprised it it achieved just that and more.

The Samsung Galaxy S II is currently available in South Korea for a hefty $786 and for the moment, we don’t have any info on which carriers from the US figure in the 140-strong list, but we should expect hear more on the same next week.
