Official Gingerbread ROM for the T-Mobile G2X Leaks
The Gingerbread ROM for the T-Mobile G2X seems to have made it’s way onto the internet. This update is most likely final, or at least close to final. Also, thanks to the Paul over at Modaco, there is a rooted unsigned version for you to flash onto your rooted G2X via recovery mode.
So if you have a rooted G2X, head to the link below to download the .zip file then flash it like any other ROM. Enjoy!
UPDATE: I personally have tested the below update on a rooted G2X with recovery flashed via this method and works perfectly!

has anyone done the gingerbread update for the lg g2x?
Done it! it woks great, the battery lasts a lot longer, is smoother and faster…the only problem is that I can’t root it, I need a solution, half of my apps worked on root level.
