Android App of the Day: GTasks

Now, I don’t know about you, but I can be pretty forgetful. I, also, flash tons of ROMs on my phone (which in turns wipes it’s data every time that happens). So what I needed was an app that could allow me to create to do lists and then sync them with Google Tasks so that when I reset my phone, redownload the app, all of my to do lists come with. Well, I’ve found a free app called GTasks that does just that. It’s also pretty good at organizing those lists as well. Let’s take a look.

Highlights

Styling

  • It’s very simplistically styled.
  • Design is intuitive enough that you can easily navigate it to get to the list you need or to add a new item.

Performance

  • Not any graphics to really load so it’s going to be fast regardless.
  • Quick to load the lists.
  • Quick to sync with Google.
  • Swiping is responsive.

Practicality

  • Great for creating lists of tasks and to do lists
  • Main benefit is that the tasks sync with your Google account on the phone automatically so this means even if you lose your phone (or you’re like me and reset it constantly) you won’t lose your lists.
  • You can even set reminders and due dates for the items on the list or just leave them without one.
  • Also has a widget that comes with it that you can add to your homescreen so you can see your tasks at a glance.

Value

  • It’s free. So I’d say it’s worth the click to install it.
