Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 tethered jailbreak for Mac now available

The iOS5 may have been freed from Apple’s clutches in record time, but it still took a while to get the jailbreak nicely packed and ready for general use.  The time has now come and Mac users can now jailbreak their devices which recently took the jump up to iOS5 beta, thanks to Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 by the Dev-Team.  You’ll still have to connect your device to a Mac every time you reboot, which is a pain, but better than not having your iPhone/iPad unlocked at all.

There have been reports of some features breaking with this beta version, so you might want to hold your horses until an untethered solution is made available, not to mention a Windows edition.  But if you are feeling antsy, head over to the Dev-Team’s blog right now to experiment.
