HTC Evo 3D gets bumped up to 1.8GHz, doesn’t burst into flames

Locked bootloader or not, our devs always find a way to up the ante and get the most of out of their cellphones.  The Evo 3D, which saw a temporary root solution devised recently, has now had its kernel modded to run its dual-core CPU at 1.8GHz.  The result has been checked with Linpack and the benchmark results come out at 90 MFLOPS, which is pretty high in the mobile realm.  The trick seems to be working on some HTC Sensations too, but this is a hit or miss depending on the kernel version that the device has.

Head over to the XDA thread to know more, but be warned that this will void your warranty and could render your device unusable.
