How To Tag People in Pictures on Google+

July 13, 2011 in Featured, Google+ How To's, How To's, Video

Just like with Facebook, you can tag yourself and your friends in your pictures. In case you were having trouble finding out how, here’s a quick tutorial.

I. Upload Pictures or Locate a Picture from a Circle

1. So obviously in order to tag a picture, you need to have a picture.

2. Head to the pictures section of your Google+ homepage and then either click upload a photo to upload your own picture you want to tag, or find one of your circles’ photos to tag.

3. Once you have the picture click on it so that it takes up the whole screen.

4. Now, Google will try to automatically find peoples faces in the image. When you hover over any of those faces Google will ask you to click to name that person. You can do that or if Google didn’t recognize the person simply click Add Tag just underneath the photo.

5. Then click on the person’s face, resize the square, and select who it is. Simple.

  1. Tagging is easy on the desktop but it didn’t work when I tried to tag using my G2x.
The boxes were visible over faces in the photo but the text input boxes weren’t.

  2. Quick note, the tag option is not available on images that were uploaded via Instant Upload until you share them.
