Motorola Atrix bootloader finally unlocked

Following the recent breakthrough with the AT&T Atrix 4G, where the bootloader was unlocked after snooping around the code in an official Gingerbread release, developers over at XDA have been hard at work to unshackle the international version of the Motorola Atrix.

The efforts seem to have finally paid off and as a result, the doors have been kicked wide open enabling other devs to go ahead and cook some awesome ROMs for this powerhouse of a device.  The feat was accomplished by a group of XDA developers and beta testers under Project Cheesecake, using an Orange UK Android 2.3 update, but the solution is not limited to the Orange UK version of the device alone and can be used on any other variant.

Look to our How-To section in the coming days for a proper tutorial on the entire process and you should also find some CM7 and other custom builds making an appearance soon in our Atrix ROMs section.
