HTC Puccini gets real, coming to AT&T very soon

Seems like there was substance to the rumor that we heard a few months earlier after all, as the 10.1-inch HTC Puccini just knocked on the FCC’s door to be put through their tests.  The specs that we learned before of seem to hold some water too, as most of them have been confirmed now by the FCC.

As we told you earlier, the tablet features a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports a resolution of 1280×800 and a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor.  The current filing also indicates the presence of dual speakers and support for AT&T LTE network frequencies, alongside the usual GSM and WCDMA radios.  There’s nothing revealed on what version of Honeycomb will be favored but 3.2 seems to be the most likely candidate.  As with the HTC Flyer, the Puccini is also designed to support the Magic Pen stylus – an ongoing trend with future HTC tablets too perhaps?

Android Authority predicts a launch date for the device before the summer ends – we hope they will be proven right.

  1. The same processor found in the HTC view?  Oh geez… I’d like to get excited, but I played with the View in the store, and the processor seemed perfectly competent on the screen’s 600×1024 resolution.  But on a 1280 x 800 screen?  Hopefully it at least gets an upgraded graphics controller from the View, like an Adreno 220.
