Apple iCloud beta Available Now For Developers, User Pricing Confirmed

Apple’s highly anticipated iCloud service is now available in its beta stage for developers. The iCloud allows the user to store documents and important data in iCloud. The iCloud will then wirelessly push the saved data to the user’s iOS device automatically and update the documents when changed on any iOS device. Developers can look forward to web applications for Calendar, Contacts, Mail, iCloud for Pages, iWork and Find My iPhone all with the same feel and appearance of iOS.

Apple has already confirmed it will offer users 5GB of free storage. What we didn’t know was how much Apple was planning on charging for any additional storage beyond the complimentary 5GB. Apple confirmed today that users interested in signing up for an additional 10GB of storage in the iCloud can do so for a $20 annual fee. Users looking for a bit more space can purchase 20GB of additional storage for $40 per year, while 50GB of added storage will cost $100 per year.

Anyone with an Apple developer account can start playing with the iCloud here.
