HTC Sensation 4G Android 2.3.4 update is a go

Many of you must have received the update already but for those of our readers who missed it, consider this a heads-up – it’s time to take your Sensation 4G to the next level, i.e., Gingerbread 2.3.4.  The update is live and flying across the country to various units.  You might want to invoke the update manually if you haven’t received the update prompt to begin the download and it would help if you had a good 3G/4G connection or a WiFi hotspot nearby.

Don’t forget to tell us the changes you notice in the Comments section below once you are done!

  1. Incredible speed improvement. Fixed the sometimes stuttering issue of the 3D scrolling, buttery smooth now. After restarting the phone, the widgets no longer disappear.

  2. Through the roof improvements on speed and responsiveness. Frequently had problems with widgets disappearing from homescreen (esp. after restart) or stalling (e.g. news apps not updating or crashing on start); everything’s much smoother now. Less stutter on 3d scrolling; similarly, issues with lag during typing smoothed out. Sometimes, homescreen folders wouldn’t close without a restart. This has been fixed. I’m seeing much faster notifications as well, esp. with email- the phone’s doing a better job recognizing multiple accounts/clients. More cosmetic notes: volume bar has changed from red to green, and the activation of WiFi Calling now reads “WiFi Calling may use minutes on some plans” rather than “WiFi Calling uses plan minutes.” Great and necessary update.

  3. Just got the update last night and such a significant difference in battery life. I have still 80% and the day is almost over. Usually I am ready to plug it back in by this time cuz i’m around 20% battery life. Nice work HTC and Tmobile.
