HTC Rhyme Becomes Official, Headed to Verizon for $199 on Contract

HTC announced their latest device called the Rhyme, which was originally dubbed the “Bliss”, and thought to be marketed only to women. While the Rhyme claims to be for all genders, its features do seem to bend towards that of a female demographic. What we mean by that is the device is petite, purple in color, and the specs are highlighted in the middle range.

Future Rhyme owners can look forward to a 3.7-inch WVGA display, a single-core 1GHz Qualcomm CPU, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage space, a non-removable battery, microSD expansion slot, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS radios and dual 5MP / VGA cameras. As far as operating systems go, the Rhyme will run Android 2.3 with HTC Sense 3.5 layered on top.

The handset is being launched with its decent share of accessories including a “Charm Indicator” that glows anytime an incoming call comes through, a wireless dashboard speaker for the car, and a workout arm band.

HTC has yet to confirm exact pricing or availability dates, but the Rhyme is expected to make it to Verizon as a 3G device for approximately $199 with a two year contract. Additionally, our European friends can expect the device to make it to European carriers under the moniker “Hourglass” and with a sand-like color mode. All device specs and accessories should remain the same.
