Live Photo and Video of the Samsung Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus

With the Samsung Unwrapped event just around the corner, we are looking at a spate of Prime/Galaxy Nexus-related rumors and frankly some do seem credible enough.  Take the video above and the picture attached to this post for example.  Both seem to show a Nexus S-esque device with some changes – the different placement of proximity/display brightness sensors and the on-screen controls in lieu of capacitive buttons being the most obvious – and seem real enough to accept that this could indeed be the Nexus Prime.

As you can see in the video, Ice-Cream Sandwich looks really delicious – there now seems to be a tab exclusively for widgets alongside the usual app drawer and a bar at the bottom of home screen giving easy access to frequently used apps like the messaging, phone and browser.  The lock screen also looks good with one-touch access to the camera directly without having to unlock and access the camera app.

On a related note, BGR has managed to nab a full spec sheet for the device, now called the Galaxy Nexus, along with the fact that the handset will be Verizon exclusive.  As you can imagine, the list looks awesome and jives with what we have heard about the Galaxy Nexus until now:

  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 9mm thin
  • 4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD with curved glass
  • TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 32GB of built-in storage
  • 5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel in the front
  • 1080p HD video capture support
  • LTE/HSPA depending on carrier
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n
  • NFC
  • 1,750 mAh battery

All that remains now is for Samsung/Google to go ahead and unveil it next Tuesday.
