Full Review of the Samsung Galaxy Player

December 20, 2011 in Featured, Phone Reviews, Samsung Phone Reviews, Video

The Samsung Galaxy Player is the first mainstream Android mp3/video player to rival the iPod Touch.  We are not calling it the iPod Touch killer, but watch the video to find out more about the device and see if it is the right device for you.

There is a 4″ screen model (reviewed here) and a 5″ cousin if you want something that resembles a mini-tablet.

Main Pros:

  • Great display with great viewing angles!
  • Fluid operation (despite the single core, 1GHz processor)
  • Good sound quality, good battery life, decent still camera
  • Sturdy (albeit plastic) construction

Main Cons:

  • Plastic construction (some of you will see this as a con while others will not care)
  • No 720P video recording
  • It is not an iPod Touch so it has less app support, no iTunes, and no Apple logo :)

  1. “no iTunes, and no Apple logo”

That sounds like a win for the good guys.
