Verizon Teams Up With The Daily To Launch Android App On Select Devices

The popular news application from The Daily, which has done phenomenally well on the iPad, has now been announced as heading towards the Android Market thanks to Verizon Wireless. The two companies have decided to join forces to bring Verizon users the subscription based application to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 first. The Verizon flavored tablet will ship with the news app pre-loaded on it. Additionally, the new Galaxy Tab 7.7 will receive the application at a later time. Verizon has yet to release any information on additional devices slated to get the app in the future.

As a side note, Big Red is also bringing Slacker Radio to a wider variety of Android tablets, and has launched apps like TouchyBooks and Trend Micro Mobile Security Personal Edition, as well.Verizon users can expect to receive one week of The Daily complimentary, and after the free week expires users can choose to either subscribe for a monthly or yearly subscription.The monthly subscription which will cost you $3.99 and $39.99 for the annual subscription.
