Sony Ericsson Unveils The Xperia Billabong Active Edition Smartphone

Sony Ericsson unveiled their “global strategic alliance” with Billabong with the launch of the Xperia Active Billabong Edition (ABE) smartphone. Geared towards extreme sports enthusiasts, the device will come equipped with exclusive content featuring Billabong screen savers, a bundle of Billabong-branded games, and apps.

While the new alliance sounds promising, don’t expect the device’s specs to knock your socks off. The Xperia ABE will sport the exact same hardware of the Xperia Active, which was unveiled in June of 2011. As a refresher, highlighted specs include a single-core 1GHz processor, Android 2.3, a 3-inch Reality display, and a five-megapixel camera.
