Verizon has just reduced the price of the Droid Bionic to $99 by removing the formerly included 16GB SD card. Users are still able to use their own microSD card for additional storage, but in order to keep costs low the phone will come with 16GB of on-board storage only.

The concept of removing the microSD card in exchange for a lower purchase price seems to be working for Verizon as the carrier applied the concept to the DROID RAZR recently.

Interested consumers can buy the Droid Bionic for $99 on contract here.
