Affordable Archos Arnova 9 G2 tablet now on sale; lacks Android Market

The tablet retails from PC Richard & Son for a light $299.99 but will its enticing price tag belie its true colors? Let’s see below:

  • 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor
  • 9.7 inch (1024 x 768) IPS multitouch display
  • 4GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot
  • USB port
  • Front-facing camera
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS
  • WiFi and Bluetooth

The USB port is an added bonus for sure but there are a few niggles off the top – the Gingerbread OS for one and the lack of a back camera, which could be a dealbreaker for many.  Also, as an OEM manufacturer, Archos has not included the Android Market but its own AppsLib store, which could turn away potential buyers from an otherwise okay tablet.

If these things don’t bother you though, head over to B&H to get one.
