If you have a Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 smartphone, then you should root it to enjoy a bunch of new apps that work only on rooted phones. Here’s a guide showing you how you can root your Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 smartphone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. Warranty of the phone will be voided once it is rooted. If you need, then you can get back the warranty by installing either stock firmware or unrooting your phone.

2. Make sure your phone has at least 60% of battery life left to last through the process.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Download the ClockworkMod Recovery Image from here.

2. Download the Rooting Package from here.

3. Download the Odin Tool from here.

III. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on your Galaxy Ace Plus:

1. Extract files from the Odin Tool archive and place them on your Desktop.

2. Double-click on Odin3 v1.85.exe file to launch the Odin Tool.

3. Turn OFF your smartphone using the Power key.

4. Put your phone into the download mode. To do that, press and hold Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons together.

5. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable.

6. From the Odin Tool, click on PDA tab and select the CWM Recovery Image file for flashing.

7. Hit the Start button to commence the process.

After the recovery is successfully installed on your phone, it will reboot. Now, move on to the following procedure to root your phone.

IV. Rooting Galaxy Ace Plus:

1. Turn OFF your Galaxy Ace Plus smartphone.

2. Press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons together to boot your phone into the recovery mode.

3. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable.

4. Extract files from the Rooting Package and place them on your Desktop.

5. Double-click the runme.bat file to start rooting your phone.

6. When the rooting is done, reboot your phone by choosing reboot system now from the recovery menu.

That’s it. You have successfully rooted as well as installed ClockworkMod Recovery on your Galaxy Ace Plus smartphone. Now, you have open gates to the world of custom ROMs and Root-only Apps.

If this procedure helped you, then please head over to the XDA Forum to thank/donate to the original developer of this root method !

  2. please tell me how to restore factory settings ( unrooting) after rooting and installing ClockworkMod Recovery on Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500

    1. Mahesh Makvana

Are you talking about unrooting your phone? If so, then please head to the XDA thread and you’ll get the unrooting procedure there.

      Thank you !

    1. arjun, did you let your PC install the necessary drivers when you connected it in recovery mode? If you are running Windows 7, they should automatically install when you connect your device. Wait for it to finish and then click on runme.bat

      1. My phone has CWM recovery mode as per instructions above. I turn on the phone in recovery mode and plug into the PC. PC finds the phone and informs me that the device is ready to use. I click on runme.bat, it goes through the motions, but each line declares that the file is not found, and nothing gets installed. What might be wrong?

        1. Make sure that you’ve extracted all the files from the Rooting Package. The file “runme.bat” alone can’t root your device.

File Not Found error usually occurs when the required files are not present in the directory where you’ve RUNME.bat file.

    2. Mahesh Makvana

You need to follow Dax’s suggestion, just install the necessary drivers and your phone should be recognized by your PC.

  3. Enter CS for MD5..
Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
    Please wait..
    clockworkmod-5.0.2.8.tar.md5 is valid.
    Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..

All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)

    whats the matter?

  4. When i started the ‘runme.bat’ file, it says:
The system cannot find the path specified…
What am i supposed to do??

    1. Mahesh Makvana

The batch file works on Windows operating system only. If you’re using Linux or Mac, then it won’t work.

    1. flash the stock recovery using the same procedure as above and try if you can get in to recovery mode then. Then try flashing CWM recovery without missing any steps!

  5. Can anyone tell me which drivers do I need to install in my Windows pc so that it can recognize my smartphone? I’ve installed CWM recovery manager, Also I’ve downloaded the Root.tar file. the only problem I’m facing right now is that whenever I connect my phone (recovery mode) to pc and double click on runme.bat file, it shows “Device not found” but still the process is over and I’m unable to root my phone. Please help.

    1. You should check out the Official Website of Samsung to download the drivers for your smartphone. After downloading the drivers, install them on your Windows PC and your PC should detect your smartphone.

      Hope it helps!

  6. how do i know that rooting is completed?when i run the runme.bat file,it opens a black on which a lot of lines are written and in the it is written that press any key to continue.then i reboot but it reboots normally.. it doesnt have any superuser appp… nor is any dat deleted.its not rooted i thin

    1. sorry super user app is installed but none of data is deleted and in superuser app.. every list is empty?.. how to upgrade and do other things

      1. What are you trying to upgrade with Superuser?

Superuser is meant to provide root access to the apps that ask for it. It doesn’t do anything like upgrading, etc.

        Hope it helps!

        1. the root is complted successfully. but i was trying to do something in clockworkmod but it is stuck now.. i cant get out of clockworkmod.how to remove it.if i hace to install custom rom to remove it .. then how to install because if i connect the usb cable it doesnt connect because i cannot open my phone and select the option ‘connect to computer’.need help please! can you give the link for custom rom also.pleazzzzzzzzzz !

  7. Hello! First: Thanks to provide this tutorial.

I’m afraid, I’m stuck in step 7 of the process of installing CMR. I’ve followed the instructions and now my phone is connected to the computer and says “Downloading… Do not turn off target !!”

In Odin I didn’t change any options, the options “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” are checked. I’ve chosen the file clockworkmod-5.0.2.8.tar.md5 in the PDA-section to download and hit the “Start” Button.

Then the first text field of the section “ID:COM” turned yellow and says “0:[COM3]”.

    The message field says:
    Enter CS for MD5..
Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
    Please wait..
    clockworkmod-5.0.2.8.tar.md5 is valid.
    Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
    Leave CS..
All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)
    Added!!

But nothing else happens. We’re waiting for the phone to reboot for several minutes now.

What can we do now? How long should we wait? Cancel and restart the process?

    1. It looks like you’ve to start everything from very beginning as the flashing part didn’t go well. As the commands say, 0 thread succeed, that means the file wasn’t flashed on the device.

Go back and start from the step-1.

Hope it should work fine then!

  8. I get an error while i run the runme.bat file…bellow the lines, it’s written “error:device not found”. A little help please?

    1. Hey Tny,

You must have drivers for your device installed on your PC. “Device Not Found” usually indicates that you do NOT have proper drivers installed. You can head to your manufacturer’s website and download the drivers.

      Hope it helps!
