Android App of the Day: FootFeed

Keeping up with four or more social networks can be exhausting. Trying to manually check-in to each one in order to maintain your mayor status over at Taco Bell can be even more tiring. If you’ve got a handful of social sites like Foursquare, Gowalla, Google Latitude, Facebook and Twitter that you like to check-in with, then you need a reliable check-in aggregation app. This is where the FootFeed app comes into play. It’s a free aggregation app that allows you to simultaneously check-in to all of your favorite sites. No one can take away your mayorship now!

Pros:

  • Quick download
  • Well designed UI
  • Allows user the ability to check in once to multiple networks simultaneously including Facebook Places, Foursquare, Gowalla, Google Latitude, Facebook and Twitter
  • Nearby Check-in Deals & Rewards
  • Get user based ideas on where to go and fun things to do based on location
  • View all your friend’s activity from Foursquare and Gowalla in a single feed
  • View all your stats across the check-in networks in a single view including, points, badges, mayorship, friends, stamps and more
  • Save your favorite locations for quick check-in

Cons:

  • App freezes sometimes
  • Does not check-in to certain sites sporadically

How it works:

  • Download the app
  • Create an account and link up your network accounts
  • To check in, select your location and press check-in
  • You will continue to earn your points, badges, mayorships, rewards and rankings from each of the check-in networks

Conclusion:

FootFeed delivers a robust check-in aggregation service as promised. Not only can you check-in to all of your favorite social sites, but you can still continue to achieve points and earn rankings directly with FootFeed. I love that you can still stay on top of where and what your friends are up too all within the confines of a single app. While FootFeed doesn’t replace your social site’s standalone apps, it absolutely makes the process of checking-in a breeze.
