Android App of the Day: Thumb

Do these shoes look good with this hat? Can I wear white shorts after Labor day? What do you think of my new Nikes? It happens all the time, you are by yourself and you find yourself needing a second opinion. Or maybe you aren’t alone, but you’d rather not take fashion advice from Uncle Buck. Thankfully, we live in a world where there is an app for everything, even an app built on providing you with an opinion when you need it the most. Even though it may sound absurd, the Thumb app for Android provides such a simple service that it actually ends up being quite addictive. It’s the only app that you can give and get opinions in seconds. I’m so hooked on Thumb that I sometimes make up excuses to get an opinion just so I can see what people have to say. I can’t get enough of this app, and I’m willing to bet you’ll feel the exact same way.

Pros:

  • Fresh well-designed UI
  • Vote and comment on questions
  • Responses come in just seconds after you post your question
  • Choose your audience: post questions to everyone on Thumb, select a gender, or just send to your Friends

  • Connect with people who share similar interests
  • Reward people by giving them Stars for helpful responses
  • Fun way to express yourself and find like-minded people

Cons:

  • Not enough of my friends are using Thumb yet!

  • Tap on the thumbs up icon if you want to post something you like

Conclusion:

Who doesn’t like positive feedback? With Thumb it’s like having your own personal team of cheerleaders at your disposal whenever you want. This app provides a fresh, well-designed platform in which its users can seek advice and opinions from others while sharing their own thoughts by voting and commenting on other user’s posts. The only other app that I’ve spent this much time on is Facebook, and quite frankly I love Thumb more and more each day. If you enjoy giving others your opinion or are always in need of some feedback, give Thumb a try. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more addictive way to give and receive opinions.

Thumb is available for free in the Google Play Store. You must be 13 years of age to use Thumb. Requires Android 2.2 and higher. Play Link
