iOS App of the Day: Evernote Food

If food and organization were to meet, get married, and have an app it would be called Evernote Food. This little baby performs exactly as you would expect from an Evernote branded app. Much like the original Evernote, you can take pictures, append notes, share them with your friends, and save everything for later reference. The app itself delivers a minimalist UI with easy to use features, which make remembering your favorite meal a delectable task.

Pros:

  • Remember the food and meals you love.
  • Snap and organize photos of your food, setting and fellow diners to make a beautiful photo essay of your meals.
  • Add a title, your location, tags, captions and additional notes about the experience.
  • Share meals with family and friends on Twitter and Facebook, or via old fashioned email.
  • See related content from your Evernote account right inside the Evernote Food app.
  • Browse through your meals or search for specific ones.
  • Automatically sync to your Evernote account, where you can access your meal notes from any computer or mobile device.
  • Capture each course of your meals, along with photos of family and friends.
  • Document each step while preparing your favorite recipes.
  • Record interesting ingredients, product labels, wines, menus and recipes you come across.
  • Save food-related experiences while you’re traveling and tasting new delicacies.
  • Track your food intake for fitness and dieting.
  • Multi shot camera.
  • Classic Evernote experience.
  • Well designed UI, easy to use.

Conclusion:

While Evernote Food offers a very basic feature set, this app can be used in a variety of settings. I have used the app to remember special occasions (the huge piece of cheesecake with a fire cracker sticking out it for my birthday), track meals for dieting, and most of all for sharing recipes. The quick snap camera function allows me to create a gallery of images that I can share with my friends or family who also enjoy cooking. Be it new recipe or a timeless family favorite, I can now save everything to the app and share it instantly without having to write out those painstaking recipe cards. Either way, if you enjoy food and wish to save the memories, take notes, or just share cool pictures of that sushi boat you had last night on Facebook download Evernote Food today.
