    1. it most probably is! to be sure though, when you are in Windows Explorer (on Windows 7) go to Tools (alt+T), folder options, the view tab and uncheck the hide extensions of known filetypes box. you should see it as run.bat instead of just run after this.

    2. By default, Windows doesn’t show the file extension, therefore you’re seeing RUN instead of RUN.BAT. It is the same file and you can run it to root your device.

  1. I tried to download LG Optimus Slider Drivers so I can root my phone and get an “out of bandwith” message on Box.com. Is there somewhere else I can download them? Thanks

  2. The root was successful but I still cannot delete some of the preset stock apps like SCVNGR. Does rooting not allow that?

    1. In order to remove some specific apps, you need to get the scripts and then run them from your PC keeping your device connected to your PC.

For such scripts, I recommend you to take a look over at XDA Forums.

      Thanks Drew!

  3. how long is it supposed to take? ive been sitting for about 10 minutes and its not doing anything .
the last thing it says is daemon started successfully.

    1. Ok….I read further down the line, and it was recommended that I made sure the DRIVERS were INSTALLED and not just downloaded. I made sure of it, and it now works! you may want to try that.

  4. IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS OTHERS NOW IT JUST SAYS DAEMON STARTED SUCCESSFULLY AND SITS THERE FOREVER IT WONT DO ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!! MARCH,18,2013

    1. Do you have proper drivers installed on your PC? First get all the required drivers and then re-try the procedure.

      Thanks!

This may seem obvious, but after downloading the drivers, make sure they are installed. If your process is hanging up on “Daemon started successfully” and goes no farther, it may be because the drivers aren’t installed.
