Android App of the Day: Temple Run

Who hasn’t wished they could be like Indiana Jones, even if for a day? Well, in Temple Run for Android , you’re an red-haired, muscle bound, Indiana Jones look-alike who just can’t stop running. Armed with a golden icon, your mission is to stay our of the grasps of the crazy eyed, winged gorilla monsters. Making your way through obstacles in your path, you can swipe and tilt your way out of harm. Temple Run is obnoxiously addictive as  your hero can’t stop. You literally have to glue your eyes to the screen (unless you chicken out and hit pause), which makes this game my pick over Angry Birds or Cut the Rope. Best part of it all is that this game is free, so continue reading to learn more about Temple Run.

  • Ridiculously addictive game play

  • Unlock new characters
  • See how far you can run
  • Power-ups serve different purposes
  • Coin power up- increases the value of coins you collect
  • Invisibility, allows your character to push through obstacles and allows you to not have to swipe anymore to move

Conclusion:

Temple Run is a great free game to add to your collection. This app offers addictive game play, a unique story line, and detailed graphics even on a low spec Android device. The game is still a bit buggy with periodic crashes and don’t be surprised if your battery life takes a hit. I usually only play this game when I’ve got some serious time to kill and am close by a charger. I do love that all of my friends are still playing Temple Run, which is great for the competitive spirit.

Temple Run is available for free in the Google Play Store. Requires Android 2.1 and higher.  Play Link
