Nexus 7 Tablet: Everything You Need to Know

So after the leaked information we finally have a lot of the details confirmed thanks to Google’s I/O keynote today. So without further ado, here’s what’s confirmed and what isn’t for the new Nexus 7 tablet.

Specs:

  • 7″ 1280×800 resolution display
  • Tegra 3 quad-core CPU with a 12-core GPU
  • 1GB of RAM
  • Front facing camera for video chat
  • Wifi, Bluetooth and NFC
  • 9 hours of video playback (4325 mAh battery)
  • Weighs a little over half the weight of the iPad 3 (340 grams vs 650 grams)
  • No rear camera (booooo)
  • Chrome browser for Android is default browser
  • $199 for the 8GB version and $249 for the 16GB version!
  • Comes with a $25 credit to buy things in the Google Play store.

Ordering begins now on the Google Play store and will ship mid-July. Already ordered mine. I mean $199 for a sick little tablet running pure Android Jellybean, can’t beat that, right? Anyone else doing it now?
