Motorola Launches Jelly Bean Soak Test for WiFi XOOM Tablet, Public Update to Follow

Motorola has just started to push the ball forward for WiFi XOOM owners by rolling out the initial soak test for the Jelly Bean update. Before you get too excited, remember this is a soak test, which means it’s not the final product and isn’t public just yet. For anyone who signed up for the update you’ll be used as the willing guinea pig to try out the new OS and send your thoughts back to Motorola. After all of the bugs have been worked out (and we’re hoping there aren’t any major complaints) Motorola will roll out the update to the public.

Sadly, Verizon XOOM owners won’t be included in this soak test, which is exactly how it went down when ICS was rolled out. As some of you may remember, Big Red XOOM owners were left waiting several months after the WiFi slab received Android 4.0 before they saw their own ICS update. While we expect that Verizon will have to do additional testing to guarantee that everything is working correctly, let’s hope it doesn’t take them as long as the last major update.

Anyone sign up for the soak test already and enjoying some Jelly Bean action tonight?
