Gresso $1,700 Cruiser Air Black: Symbian S40, Polished By A Single Person For Hours, Specs Are Just Ok

So let’s just say that you have $1,700 lying around and you’re in the market for a rare and exclusive cell phone that will make the girls at the bar think you’re part of a member’s only club. Thankfully, Gresso is in the business of creating overly priced devices with you in mind. Say hello to their latest addition creatively named the Cruiser Air Black.

The Cruiser Air Black will be the company’s first one-piece aluminum alloy construction device weighing in at only 106 grams. You will only be able to find 555 units produced upon launch, so chances of your friends having the same phone will be slim to none. The phone’s exterior design is what will set it apart from anything else on the market with buttons made of matte steel set in glossy black panels. Gresso claims that the Cruiser is polished by a lone craftsperson for several hours, and then undergoes an anodizing process. Sounds fancy right?

Lone craftsperson aside, the Cruiser’s specs leave a lot to be desired with this device. Future owners will have to live with a two-inch, 240×320-pixel display and a two-megapixel camera. While the processor is unknown at this point, we do know there is 30MB of storage space on board, a microSD memory card slot only compatible for cards up to 2GB. The phone supports 900, 1,800, and 1,900 GSM frequency bands and runs on the Symbian S40 operating system.

So, if a uber-exclusive phone with polished buttons is what you are looking for, the Crusier Air Black will go on sale in August with a retail price tag of $1,700.
