How to Unroot HTC Explorer Smartphone

Unrooting your smartphone is useful when you are going to the company shop to get your phone repaired or for something else. Once you have unrooted your smartphone, the person at the shop wouldn’t be able to know that you had modified the OS of your smartphone. The following guide will help you unroot your HTC Explorer smartphone. Follow each step carefully and you will end up with an unrooted phone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your phone using the guide given here.

2. You will get back the warranty which you lost during the root process after unrooting your phone.

3. You must have ADB installed on your PC. Learn how to install ADB.

4. Your phone must be charged fully in order to proceed with the unrooting process.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Download the Unrooting Tool from here. (Download link is given in the first post)

III. Unrooting HTC Explorer Smartphone:

1. Download and place the Unrooting Tool File onto your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the Unrooting Tool archive to your Desktop. You will get two folders, one for unrooting and one for stock recovery.

3. Enable USB debugging on your smartphone by navigating to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging and tick-mark the box.

4. Increase the screen time-out by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Display>>Screen Timeout and set it to 30 Minutes.

5. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable that came with it.

6. Now, open the Unrooting Folder which you extracted from the archive.

7. Double-click on the file named runme-UNROOT.bat to start unrooting your phone.

8. It will take some time to unroot your phone. When it’s done, your phone will reboot.

9. Keep your phone connected to your PC. Now, open the Stock Recovery Folder and double-click the file named recovery.bat.

10. It will flash the stock recovery on your smartphone.

11. After the recovery is installed on your phone, just disconnect it from the PC.

Well done, you have successfully unrooted your HTC Explorer smartphone as well as flashed the stock recovery. Now, there’s no mark of modification on your phone, neat and clean.

      In order to lock the bootloader of your phone, just connect your phone to your PC, Open a Command Prompt Window where you have ADB installed and run the following commands:
      adb reboot bootloader
      fastboot oem lock

      Well, it’s a simple process to lock the bootloader of your phone.

      Just connect your phone to your PC, Open a Command Prompt Window in the ADB folder and type in the following commands:

      adb reboot bootloader
      fastboot oem lock

      It should lock the bootloader of your device.

  1. I have a problem, I’m stucked on step 9, it says waiting for device and it doesn’t starts, the phone is still on usb debbuging and I have ADB installed and up to date so I don’t know what the problem is… any help?

    1. After completing the step-8, disconnect your device from the PC and then re-connect it. Make sure that your device is turned ON and then follow the step-9.

    2. You must run recovery.bat in follow:

      1. Reboot your phone into the bootloader mode by pressing and holding Volume DOWN+Power buttons simultaneously.

      2. Choose fastboot option from the bootloader menu.

      3. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable.

      4. Double-click the recovery.bat file to commence the flashing process.

  2. What about the htc bootloader unlock . Which step of above will relock my bootloader to the state it was when i bought my phone

    1. The above procedure covers only unrooting, you can use the ADB commands to unlock/lock the bootloader of your device.

  3. Can I get back my Boot Loader status to “Locked” instead of “Re-locked” ? HTC reps. told me that my warranty is still void if my Boot Loader’s status is “Re-Locked” . Thanks

    1. If you’re on custom ROM, then you need to flash the Stock ROM on your device. Try searching on Google for the Stock ROM for your device.

      To relock the bootloader, you can issue the following commands using ADB:
      fastboot oem lock

          1. hey hi muhesh …..its quit funny to ask now that how to flash custom rom on explorer but first time i had flashed my phone but had not wipe anything just flashed the rom directly the phone startedd luckly but it has lead to low internal memory and the play store does not work , even htcmusic doesnot work …..so i want the steps to flash my phone again what to wipe and what not to wipe….
            Currently i m using jaggyrom 4 can you help me..?

          2. thank you Mahesh i know that but what i was asking is to wipe everything except sd card everytime i flash the rom because wiping only factory cache and dalvik cache it not doing….. thankx Mahesh …
