  1. I tried this rooting method, however once I open the exe file it starts running and doesn’t reboot my phone. It acts just like it isn’t communicating with the device. Tried it in charge only mode and PC mode. Allow USB debugging is turned on. Am I missing a Step? Please Help!!!

    1. Hi Carl,

You must have drivers for your device installed on your PC. If you’re missing drivers, you can get them from the manufacturer’s website.

The issue you’ve explained above is most probably caused because of lack of drivers. Get the correct drivers and you should be good to go!

      Hope it helps!

  2. Thank you so much!! its been so long since ive rooted anythingand it was so easy to do with your instructional. once again thank you!

  5. I have been contemplating rooting my X2 (v2.3.5) for a few weeks now, and finally got up the nerve yesterday (2013 02-13) afternoon. I just followed the instructions above carefully (and nervously) and also instructions in the window of the program – it guides you along as it goes – and it went off without a hitch! Thank you very much for your guide!

    1. If you see the Red Motorola symbol with “Dual Core Technology” and it’s “stuck”, it’s because you have to “Press any key to continue”.
You must hit enter on the .exe to pass this section. After hitting a key, it will send the preinstall file followed by writing it. Otherwise, you’re phone will appear frozen!

I have super user but it says I failed binary….I tried again and all I got at the end was error device not found…

    1. Hello calvin,

Superuser’s not supposed to generate messages like “failed binary”. Are you sure this is the error message you get on your device? Let us know.

      Thanks!
