How to Root the LG Spectrum

LG’s LTE compatible smartphone, Spectrum, saw the light of day in January, 2012. The phone consists of a 1.5GHz processor along with 1GB of RAM. I think, that’s enough for a smartphone to provide ultimate user experience. Besides, it runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread so that you can run your favorite apps downloaded from Play Store. In order to enjoy all the apps available in the Play Store, you need to root your phone. Here we have a guide on how you can root your LG Spectrum smartphone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You will void the warranty of your device if you root it. However, you can regain the warranty by either unrooting your phone or installing the stock firmware.

2. Make sure that your device is charged at least 60%. It is to ensure a smoother rooting process.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Package (Download link’s given there for Windows, Mac and Linux)

2. Extract files from the Drivers archive to your Desktop and install them.

3. Extract files from the Root Package to your Desktop.

4. Enable USB debugging on your smartphone by going to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>USB debugging, tick-mark the box.

5. Connect your smartphone to your PC using the USB cable.

6. Here comes the machine-specific step:

a) If you are running a Windows PC, double-click the run.bat file which you extracted from the Root Package archive.

b) If you are running a Mac/Linux PC, double-click the run.sh to begin the root process.

7. Follow the on-screen instructions to root your smartphone.

8. Disconnect your smartphone from the PC after it has been rooted.
