How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Fit (GT-S5670) running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Fit running Froyo is pretty easy, but if you have already updated to Gingerbread, things get a little more complicated.  The guide below will help you clear the clouds and have a clear procedure to help you with rooting the Samsung Galaxy Fit.  Read on if this is what you have been looking for.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  This guide is designed to work with the Samsung Galaxy Fit running any Gingerbread version (Android 2.3.3 to 2.3.7).  If you have a Fit running Froyo, use our guide to help you.

2.  Back up everything you feel is important.

3.  Make sure you have your device charged to 75% or more before you begin.

III.  Rooting the Galaxy Fit

1.  Connect your device to your PC in USB Mass Storage Mode and copy the universal_gb_root_v25.zip to your SD card.

2.  Disconnect your device and power it down.

3.  Press and hold the Home button + Power button until your device boots into recovery mode.

4.  Use the Volume Up and Down keys to navigate to apply update from sdcard and press the home button to select it.

5.  Locate and select universal_gb_root_v25.zip to flash the file.

6.  Once you see the install from sdcard complete message, select reboot system now.

Your Galaxy Fit should be rooted when it finishes rebooting!

    I have a problem

    I have done these steps

    but when I select file after operation the following screen appears

  2. is it necessary to connect mobile to PC in USB Mass Storage Mode ? Can do it by coping the zip file in SD card using a card reader.

  3. rooted my phone with above method, rooting completed but phone is started restarting it self. every time.
