Google Employee Draws Android Evolution Comic Supporting Key Lime Pie, Says It Was ‘Just For Fun’

The world is still wrapping their fingers around the latest version of Google’s Android OS, Jelly Bean, and while some devices are just making the jump from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean it seems a little early to be talking about the next major version of Android right? Wrong. Shortly after Jelly Bean was officially unveiled industry leaks ran rampant dubbing the next version as ‘Key Lime Pie’. The name sweetly fitting into Google’s fascination with sugary treats.

We haven’t heard much on the Key Lime Pie front until now as a Google employee Manu Cornet  makes a direct suggestion to Key Lime Pie in a comic illustrating the evolution of Android. It’s hard to look at this comic and not think that this looks like a company roadmap, but Cornet states that he drew the comic “just for fun,” and there’s “not much” point to reading in between the lines. Cornet is currently employed on the Gmail team so, he doesn’t necessarily know what’s going on over on the mobile side. Either way, the comic has fans going nuts and we can’t blame them.

We wouldn’t be surprised at all if a Google is working on a pie shaped statute for its Mountain View lawn as we speak.
