  1. I am trying to use this method, but to no avail. I have a Samsung Captivate i897 running 2.2. I have SuperOneClick 2.3.3 on my Windows box. I have followed all of the instructions, but I always get this message after pressing “Root”: “The following device does not have drivers installed . . . Would you like me to forcefully install an Android ADB Interface Driver for this device?” I click yes, as recommended elsewhere. It confirms it has been installed. I try “Root” again and get the same message. Only this time when I click again to forcefully install it, I get “No more data is available”. I can’t move any further. Please help!

Make sure you’ve proper drivers installed on your device. Just head over to your manufacturer’s website and download the latest drivers available, that should solve the issue.

      Thanks!

      1. I’ve done that, as well as EVERYTHING listed on other forums to get the drivers to work. Sadly, it looks like it may not be possible for me.

Well, we provided you with the possible solutions to your issue. Maybe you should try something else to root your device, there’s a whole forum on the XDA Developers where you’ll certainly get some answers.

Meanwhile I’ll see what I can do for you!

      2. OK. I got the driver problem fixed — I think. However, SOC hangs every time at “Starting ADB Server”. There seems to be no solution to this. I have even tried on Ubuntu, where it gets further, but hangs at searching for device. HMMM.
