Ever since the 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA rolled out for Droid RAZR/MAXX users (on Christmas Eve), the world has been waiting on a successful root method. Thanks to the never ending hard work of Dan Rosenberg (@djrbliss) life just got a little sweeter. Some of you may be familiar with Rosenberg, as he’s rooted everything under the sun including the LG Spectrum, RAZR M, and the Droid RAZR/MAXX HD. Using his security research background, Rosenberg has also published a valuable guide on rooting and modding for those users concerned about security.
Now original Droid RAZR and Droid MAXX owners can root their Jelly Bean devices through a simple process that currently only works from a Windows PC. Continue on to the DroidRZR link where you’ll find a .zip file with a .bat file inside that needs to be run with your phone connected to your Windows PC. Happy rooting!
