How to Unroot the Samsung Galaxy S3 (US Cellular)

If you’ve rooted your device but aren’t satisfied with all the advantages it offers and want to return back to stock, then this guide might be helpful to you. Some users just don’t like to keep their devices rooted, maybe they are more comfortable with their stock ROM, so for those users, here we’re presenting a guide that will help them unroot their device and get back to stock. Let’s see how you can unroot your Samsung Galaxy S3 (US Cellular).

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. Make sure your device’s charged fully or has at least 70% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Firmware (Download the appropriate firmware for your device)

2. Odin

III. Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy S3 (US Cellular):

1. Place both the files you downloaded to your Desktop.

2. Extract files from both the archives to your Desktop.

3. Double-click on the Odin executable file and it’ll launch.

4. Click on PDA button and select the Stock Firmware file you downloaded earlier.

5. Put checkmark in the boxes labeled as Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.

6. Make sure that the Repartition box isn’t checked in the tool.

7. Turn OFF your device.

8. Reboot the device into Download mode. To do so, simply hold down the Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons together.

9. Press Volume UP key to enter the Download mode.

10. Now, connect the device to your PC via USB cable.

11. Click Start button in Odin and it’ll start flashing the firmware.

12. It’ll take some good time to finish the process, so sit back and relax.

13. Once it is done, reboot the device.

14. And you’re all done!

Awesome! Your phone has been unrooted is now back to the stock firmware. If you wish, you can now begin modifying the device from scratch!
