Verizon Confirms Android 4.2.2 Update Rolling Out In Phases To Galaxy Nexus Users Now

Verizon announced that the Galaxy Nexus will be receiving the update to Android 4.2.2 starting today. The carrier will roll out the update in phases, so if you haven’t received the update notification don’t panic just yet. We’re assuming this update is the same build JDQ39 that leaked out a couple of weeks ago. Verizon has yet to release the build’s support documents., but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for them. Here’s what Big Red had to say about the update:

The software includes new camera features such as photosphere to take 360 degree panoramic pictures that can easily be shared with friends. The camera app also has new tools to add filters and borders, further customizing pictures.

Additionally, an all new Gesture Keyboard is available, allowing users to slide their finger from letter to letter to type a word. Other enhancements include allowing users to place widgets on the lock screen for easier access to popular apps such as Calendar, Gmail and Clock.

Any Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners get their Android 4.2.2 fix yet?

  2. Mine updated yesterday and now all of a sudden my battery won’t hold a very long charge which is sucks. The clock app also changed and the hour digit is now huge and you can’t change it! The update did change some of my prefences about location settings and ads so double check your settings. Also added NFC to allow data exchange when the phone touches another device.
