How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Pocket (GT-S5300)

Samsung Galaxy Pocket is an Android smartphone for those who really want to enjoy true Android experience without damaging their pockets. The device runs Android Gingerbread on-board and is equipped with a 832MHz processor, not so good specs but still worth the price you’re paying for it. With every Android device out there, there’re opportunities to go beyond what manufacturer has to offer and that means rooting the device and getting root-only apps running on it. This might seem a difficult task at first, but it really isn’t. So to help your rooting job easier, here we’ve put together all the steps to root the Samsung Galaxy Pocket (GT-S5300) smartphone. Go ahead and root your device!

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. Your device should have at least 60% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Package (Download link’s given in the second post)

III. Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Pocket (GT-S5300):

1. Place the Root Package archive on the Desktop of your PC. Do NOT extract it, just leave it as is.

2. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

3. Copy the Root Package archive over to the root of your SD card.

4. Once it’s copied, disconnect your device from your PC.

5. Turn OFF your device.

6. Reboot your device into the Recovery mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume UP+Home+Power buttons together.

7. Once inside the Recovery mode, choose apply update from sdcard.

8. Select the Root Package archive you copied earlier for flashing.

9. The file will then be flashed on your device.

10. Once it’s done, reboot your device.

11. And you’re rooted now!

Awesome! Your device has been successfully rooted and the same can be confirmed by checking the presence of Superuser app in your App Drawer.
