How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Axiom

Samsung Galaxy Axiom (US Cellular) was launched back in November, 2012 along with Android Ice Cream Sandwich running on the board. Specifications of the device are great, they include a 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 5MP shooter on the back, quite a nice combination of hardware parts with the software. Even though the device’s equipped with really high specs, it can’t perform to its true power due to the restrictions in the firmware. Such restrictions can be removed by rooting the device and for you guys, here we’ve prepared a guide on how you can root your Galaxy Axiom smartphone. Once you’ve rooted your device, you’ll be able to get root-only apps up and running on it that let experience the true power of your device. So, here’s how you can root your device:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting the device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. This should install the ClockworkMod Recovery as well on your device.

3. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Odin

2. ClockworkMod Recovery (Download link’s given in the first post)

3. CWM SuperSU (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy Axiom:

1. Download and place all the files onto your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the Odin archive to your Desktop.

3. Double-click on Odin executable file and it’ll launch.

4. Click on PDA and select the ClockworkMod Recovery file you downloaded earlier.

5. Turn OFF your device

6. Reboot your device into Download mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons together.

7. Once inside Download mode, connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

8. Click on Start button in the Odin and it’ll begin flashing the file.

9. Once it’s done, reboot your device.

10. You’re done!

Awesome! Your device’s been successfully equipped with a custom recovery, now is the time to root t. Go ahead and root your device!

IV. Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Axiom:

1. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.

2. Copy the CWM-SuperSU zip over to the root of your SD card.

3. Once the file’s copied, unplug your device from your PC.

4. Turn OFF your device.

5. Reboot your device into Recovery Mode. To do that, just hold down the Volume UP+Home+Power buttons together.

6. From the Recovery menu, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.

7. Select the CWM-SuperSU zip you copied earlier to your device.

8. It’ll flash the file to your device.

9. Once it’s done, reboot your device.

10. And you’re all done!

Excellent! Your Galaxy Axiom has been successfully rooted and you now also have a custom recovery on your device. Root-only apps and custom ROMs are knocking at your door!

  1. Odin says it was successful in copying over the Clockwork Mod Recovery. When I boot up in recovery mode, though, there is not option to install the zip from the SD card.

    1. I had the same problem but if you select apply update from external storage i can select the zip file that i copied and it will reboot and nothing has changed.

  2. This makes no sense!!! In order to use clockworkmod recovery you need root acess! How are we suppused to flash the SuperSU file using cwm recovery if we dont have root?? If you try to install the file using the android recovery system it will not work btw. This does not work!!
