How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Apollo

Samsung Galaxy Apollo is still stuck at the Android Froyo and there seems to be no updates for the device from its manufacturer. However, the Android Community has taken care of the device and we now have a working root method for the device. Yes, you heard it right. With root-access on your Galaxy Apollo, you won’t just be able to see the system files, but you’ll have privileges to modify them the way you want, no restrictions at all. Sounds good? huh. Let us show you how you can root your Samsung Galaxy Apollo smartphone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. Make sure your device has at least 50% of battery life left.

3. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. SuperOneClick (It’s attached in the first post)

III. Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Apollo:

1. Place the SuperOneClick archive you downloaded to your Desktop.

2. Unzip files from the archive to your Desktop.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device from Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.

4. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

5. Double-click on SuperOneClick executable file and it’ll launch.

6. Hit Root button in the app and it’ll start rooting your device.

7. Within a few seconds or minutes, you’ll have your device rooted.

8. And you’re done!

Congratulations! Your Galaxy Apollo has been successfully rooted and the Superuser app’s been injected for managing root-permissions. You can now install root-only apps as well as a custom recovery image on your device!

IV. Flash a Custom Recovery Image (Optional):

1. If you would like to flash a custom recovery image in order to flash custom ROMs, head to the How To Flash a Custom Recovery Image on the Samsung Galaxy Apollo to learn how to do that.
