How to Root the LG Optimus Sol

Earlier in 2011, we reported that LG was prepping a mid-range Android device and some of the specifications were also leaked out along with the device pictures. The device’s reality now and the specifications are exactly same as what we mentioned at that time. It features a 1GHz processor, 5MP Camera and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. There’s a good news coming out for the device users as you can now root your device to get access to all those awesome root-only apps you could only dream of. It’s a one-click root method that gives you root-access on your device in no time, here’s how you can do that.

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. You must have proper drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t,  get them from here.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. SuperOneClick (Download the 2.3.3 version of the app)

III. Rooting the LG Optimus Sol:

1. Download and place the SuperOneClick archive onto your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.

4. Once it’s been enabled, connect your device to your PC via USB cable.

5. Run the SuperOneClick app by double-clicking on its executable file available on your Desktop.

6. Click Root button in the app and it’ll root your device.

7. And you’re done!

Congrats! Your Optimus Sol has been successfully rooted, all thanks to ShortFuse for his SuperOneClick tool. You can now proceed to Google Play to download your favorite root-only apps and enjoy the freedom!

IV. Flash a Custom Recovery Image (Optional):

1. If you would like to flash a custom recovery image in order to flash custom ROMs, head to the How To Flash a Custom Recovery Image on the LG Optimus Sol to learn how to do that.
