Download the New Google Hangouts App for Android and Chrome Here
Google Hangouts, the new unified and cross-platform messaging service announced by Google at I/O, is now available for download on all platforms. We’re guessing most of our readers only care about Chrome and Android, but if you are an iOS user, you can find it in the App Store as well. Go ahead what are you waiting for!
To install to your phone, you’ll need to install through the web Play store for the time being. This replaces Google Talk so be sure and get this downloaded to stay in touch with your contacts.
NOTE: If you aren’t yet able to install Hangouts on your phone or tablet, or the Play Store “Open” button takes you to the old Talk app, hang tight, we are rolling out Hangouts to everyone over the course of several days. Rest assured Hangouts will be available soon for all Android 2.3+ devices, tablets included!
Glad you clarified this point about Hangouts replacing Talk instead of Google+. A lot of people were confused about that. One female (in ratings comment on app) demanded that Google+ now be removed from her phone! T
