Update to iOS 7 Beta for Free, No UDID Registration Required

I posted yesterday on How to Update to iOS 7 Beta Right Now on Your Apple iPhone and in that procedure I showed you how to register your device as a developer through a third-party that charges $8 to do so. Turns out, there’s a way to do it without registering the device. The catch is that you can’t restore the phone through iTunes, but in all honesty, you wouldn’t ever really NEED to do that most likely. Essentially don’t ever accidentally hit the Restore button in iTunes and you won’t have an issue (the issue in reference here is just that the device will check with Apple to see if it’s a developer device, and if it isn’t it, won’t go past the activation screen forcing you to downgrade back to iOS 6).

So what are you waiting for? Here’s the modified procedure and video for you to follow to get iOS 7 Beta on your iPhone for free.

How to Update to iOS 7 Beta Right Now on Your Apple iPhone for Free

Oh and for those that are worried they’ll be stuck with iOS 7 after doing this, just follow this procedure here to downgrade back to iOS 6 at any time no issues at all (yes, that procedure says how to unjailbreak, but trust me it’s the same procedure to downgrade).

Let me know if this worked for you!

    1. i am late to reply! but u need to download iOS 6.1.3 IPSW file if u have iPhone 4.! or 6.1.4 file if u have iPhone 4S or iPhone 5. now restore using iTunes to this software version! it will activate successfully if u are factory unlocked. maybe u are stuck because u restored to iOS 7 not updated. so take care of it.! now when u are on iOS 6. u can now Press SHift + Click Update and use iOS 7 file to update to it! it won’t ask u for activation bla bla! i have tried on 4 iDevices! if u don’t wana update then enjoy iOS 6 and wait for final public release!

  8. When i have select the restore file by pressing down shift and click on “Check for update” a window comes up and says “The iPhone “James iPhone” could not be updated because the firmware is not compatible. Please contact me on Hellingify@gmail.com

NOTE: Itunes is on the latest version, my iPhone is running 6.1.4 and is an iPhone 5. Thanks in advance.

      1. Long Live Pakistan

both of you are using wrong firmware , please download according to your phone , see at the back of your phone ,at the bottom, what is your mobile model it would be A1248 or A1249 and then download the firmware accordingly …

  9. I have updated to ios7 before, and went back to iOS6.1.3 and i would like to go back to ios7, but when i try to it says this device isn’t eligible for the requested build.

  10. Guys, apple may brick your idevice because of this, if you want a safe and legit iOS7 you can register it for $3.50USD which is more than half of the price that other sellers sell for. I still have quite a lot of spaces left. Email me at jaden.chhit@hotmail.com for further information. This is not a scam and i can give you proof that your udid is registered at the end if u want.

  11. I have a phone 5 running 6.1.4 and the right beta-4-ios7-ipsw. and I’m still getting the “isnt eligible”. when i click check for update with the optionkey.. is there anything im missing?
