That doesn’t work… I’ve tried holding down the power button as well… any ideas?

Seems like you need a bit of practice in order to do it properly. Just try pressing buttons with different time intervals and you should finally end up doing it successfully!

      Good luck!

It doesn’t work. There used to be a feature for this when you hit the power button but it seems their latest update has taken that feature away.

    • Mahesh Makvana says:

If you think the feature’s been taken away, you can use the screenshot app available in the Google Play to take screenshots on your Xperia Z.

Here’s the link to the app –

It does work. I’ve just tried it on my Sony Xperia Z.

I’ve applied an update recently, too, that takes the screenshot ability away if you hold down JUST the power button. However if you do as the above instructions say, and hold down BOTH the power button and the lower volume button at the same time, it will automatically take a screenshot (which you can then view in your picture album).

It works…. Just press both em at the exact same time, trust me;)

It does indeed work, i think i was just being impatient in thinking it would take it straight away. It seems it takes a few seconds to take the picture.

Yes, initially you might not be able to take the screenshot but as you used to the key-combination, you’ll be able to do it in a sec!
