August Android Distribution Numbers Updated: Jelly Bean Up at 40% And Gingerbread Holding On At 33%

The Android Developer team updated the distribution numbers for the Android OS which showed how August played out. No surprise that the Jelly Bean iteration is continuing to increase gradually with numbers at 40% from last month’s 38%. Gingerbread is still holding tight to it’s 33% share of the pie.

In case you were curious as to how those older versions were holding up, we’ve got the breakdown here: Ice Cream Sandwich 22.5% (was 23.3%), Honeycomb and Donut remain at 0.1% (was 0.1%), Gingerbread 33% (was 34.1%), Eclair 1.2% (was 1.4%), and Froyo 2.5% (was 3.1%).
